Student Opportunities

African Studies Club

The African Studies Club at College of Charleston is currently inactive and seeking motivated student leadership.

For anyone interested in the African Studies Club you do not have to be a African Studies minor to be involved! Let us know if you are interested in participating by contacting Director of African Studies, Dr. Simon Lewis, LewisS@cofc.edu.

West African Drum & Dance Club

Come be a part of a community dedicated to learning and sharing traditional West African rhythms and dances!  Find out what it means to see the rhythms and hear the dances!  For more information, contact Club President Miya Fowler (fowlerms1@g.cofc.edu) or Club Advisor Meg Goettsches (goettschesms@cofc.edu).

Study Abroad

Currently there are two options to study abroad through a College of Charleston sponsored program.  The first is a CofC program to Morocco. The second option is to go through an exchange program to study at the University of Cape Coast in Ghana.

Other African destinations that are available to students via CofC's Center for International Education have included Botswana, Egypt, Gambia, Guinea, Kenya, Liberia, Mali, Senegal, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Tanzania and Tunisia.
